Faculty Profiles

Jill Anderson has taught secondary English for eight years in both public and private schools and has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin. For the last sixteen years, her writing program “Essay Writing for the College Bound” has introduced high school students to the critical thinking and self-expression needed to excel at the college level

Joanna Rempel-Knighten earned her M.A. in English at Baylor University. Her teaching experience includes Baylor,, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth, and Summit Christian Academy. She is also AP trained and has taught AP English Literature and Composition for over six years. This is her fourth year with CCPA

Nichelle Nelson is a veteran homeschooling mother of four with 25 years experience. All of her homeschool graduates matriculated at Baylor University, graduating with advanced degrees and with honors. Nichelle has earned an AA in history from Austin Community College and graduated summa cum laude from Huston-Tillotson University with a BA in history. She has served as a coach and a judge for the National History Day competition. She is an Air Force brat, Air Force wife, and an Air Force mom. She utilizes her experiences of having lived abroad over a decade to bring to her classroom a diverse view of the languages, cultures, and art of many nations, and offering a more balanced perspective of historical narrative.

Tami White earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, at Austin. She spent her early career as a design engineer building simulation threat radars, wireline equipment, and computers. As a full time homeschooling mom of four, Tami concentrated on designing a rigorous school setting for her now launched children, and has tutored Math, Science, Logic (and even Writing in a pinch!) for groups of MS and HS students through Manna Classical Academy. Her two oldest children have completed graduate school, one with a BS and a MS in Nursing from Texas and another with a BA from Texas and a JD from Harvard Law School. The two youngest are currently in college. Tami especially enjoys the STEM classes she has taught over the last ten years, particularly imparting a love for learning, critical thinking, and discipline to her students.
